A locally made musical is a very rare and special thing, and Antarctica gives Hobart the chance to have a world premiere all of its own.
— Kris Stewart, Artistic Director, Brisbane Powerhouse

Isolation and adversity will bond a small group of expeditioners working in Antarctica for one extraordinary year.

Be part of Birdie’s story: a young scientist whose life will never be the same following her time in one of the most extreme yet beautiful environments on Earth.

Naïve, nerdy and inexperienced, she becomes empowered through loss, hardship and love. She will experience the impact of climate change first-hand and vows to return to Australia and tell the world about her science.

Everything Birdie knows will be questioned as she is forced to find courage and strength in the face of impending disaster. Be the first to see this original Tasmanian-born pop musical premiere on stage, in one of Australia’s most prestigious theatres.
